DB Woodside who so beautifully portrayed Melvin Franklin in the miniseries THE TEMPTATIONS, will be playing the role of the President in "24" which starts in January 2007. Woodside has appeared in "24" the past few years as brother of President Palmer who was assassinated in 2006.

He will have some mighty big shoes to fill to make the fans forget Dennis Haysbert as President Palmer. I am a big 24 fan and I liked DB as the brother, I am anxious to see how he will handle the lead role.

I agree. Dennis Haysbert was sensational as President Palmer. I think from what I've read that DB will not be doing an imitation of Haysbert's presidential portrayal. Last year he was the loving brother seeking to help find his brother's killer. I think this year he might be playing a younger brother who seeks to emulate his older brother but isn't quite sure how to do so. In other words, if I were suddenly thrust into the presidential role I would want to be a good president, but I would also find so many pressures I know little about now that I would be burdened with the trials and tribulations of someone who wants to do the right thing but isn't sure which path is the right one.
If DB is as intellligent as I think he is, he knows enough not to imitate Haysbert but to create his own presidential personality.
