I wanted to share my concert review from www.rontyson.com with this board so here goes:
I don’t know if you’ll quite count this as a review because I didn’t really see the show. Well, I did see the show, on the large screen. What I never saw were the guys on stage. Oops, that’s not true either. I did catch a glimpse of somebody’s hand in the air, a nice brown color hand, probably the right one, with a ring on it—for some reason I think it was G. C.’s. Oh yeah, I got a peek at the bright light bouncing off Otis’s dome and his handsome smile as he waved to the crowd.
From what I can tell, the guys were wearing white on white with a red or burgundy hankie. GC’s lil red “fro” was flawless. Ron was absolutely gorgeous with his hair “blown out” instead of slicked down like he usually wears it. It makes him look younger and oh so delicious (I’m not switching to Lovin’ Ron, I’m just tellin’ it like it is, the brotha was looking gooooood.) The camera person did a great job on close ups of the guys from great angles, but they missed a lot of the show’s great choreography except for on “Poppa” they zoomed out, caught the whole group, and then slowly zoomed in perfectly on GC and Bob.
This show was an abbreviated one. They started out with How Sweet, then went into–in the usual order— TWYDTTYD, Ball of Confusion, Just My Imagination, Next to You, Ain’t Too Proud, Poppa, Rain, My Girl, Losing You and that’s it. They didn’t do the usual banter and crowd teasing either. They did do the rotary phone bit on Rain. I love the way they’ve changed they way each guy responds to GC. (They have got to put this thing on DVD). The crowd cheered enthusiastically at Terry, then went wild on Joe’s part, but roared when Otis sang his part. O dub sounded great. It’s time for him to do a solo again on their CD.
I enjoyed myself the best I could considering I had to hoist the 5 year old onto my back so she could see the screen and push and threaten the drunk and or inconsiderate person who’d stand in front of the 10 year old so she couldn’t see.
The good part about it? I get to see the guys again tonight at the Florida Theater. No cameras are allowed, but I’m taking it anyway, just in case.
Here are my nieces reviews:
Nezariah, 5 years old.
I like when they sang Just My Imagination. I like when they all spinned around at the same time. They had on a white suit. When the Temptation Man (Ron) said hold up your cell phone the man (some old drunk behind us) said no not your cell phone, your lighter. and he held up a lighter but everyone else had a phone. That was so funny. I just want the Temptations to sang again.
Adriana, 10 years old.
My Review of the Concert.
My review of the concert is going to be simple. My favorite part of the concert was when they sung my favorite song by the Temptations, Just My Imagination.
The worst part was when all those grown ups kept getting in front of me. It was bad enough I couldn't see the stage, but when the adults got in front of me, the only way I could see (the big screen), I coudn't see anymore.
All the Temptations looked fly with their white suits. I love the way Ron sings. He sounds like the original Cornbread.
It was so funny when the Temptations told everyone to hold up their cellphones and one man said to hold up your lighters instead of cellphones.
Now that I told you about my review of the concert, will you tell me about your review of the concert if you went?
