I can't stand the fact that David's death scene happened the way it did, but again, it was a movie, cut short to save time and budget. The end didn't go into any detail of the group, as the beginning did. The movie climaxed and then after Reunion, seemed to decline. They didn't show Eddies funeral, nor did they show Davids, and I am sure if they had they's still hav the same result. They showed Pauls, and Melvins. I dont know how many funerals I could take in that movie. To this day, I've seen Pauls ONCE, and that was the first time I saw the movie.

We all know it was a mini-series(movie), and love it for what it is despite it's innacuracies. However I agree on the David & Eddie funerals. You make a fair point, how many funerals can a movie take? However, I still feel they could've had David & or Eddies funeral, or deaths incorporated more into the film. I watched the entire thing yet again recently....still cry at Melvins funeral & I swear I've seen that film 1,000 times plus!! The flasbacks always get me, & Smokeys voice....it never fails.

I always make the disc skip when the entire scene of Pauls death starts. I like the final scene with Melvin at his mothers, but skip disc from the grave site to the scene at the Fox. I find this bitter sweet. I happen to love the fact that they are dancing in sync and even though we know death has occurred for the majority of our men, we get the chance to see them once more doing their thing, well. As only they could. I watch scene 35 a lot. They only mention Eddie's passing, and show David death in a very horrible manner. The truth was not pretty either. I hate the way Pauls is played. I wish they would've used the fact that David attempted to sing, was overcome and the rest joined him, but they could not finish either. I think that would've been better than just having Eddie and Melvin at the grave site. I do not think it did the true emotion of his death any justice. But that's the movie I would make, and no one asked me at the time for my opinion. I guess when they do the Temptations documentary we will get the facts, until then we play our DVD's unit they worp.

I always make the disc skip when the entire scene of Pauls death starts. I just can't bear to watch it! Good thing Papa was never one of my favorite songs anyways. That was a very good point you made. I never heard it put that way. Most are just pissed that it was SHOWN that way, maybe it was BETTER than the truth? I don't know their reasons. That would have made watching it much easier. A real tear-jerker

You know...I've thought about it a bit but never quite in that way. I mean I was pissed they showed Davids death like that too, but your right, it could've & probably was much worse. In that case, they should've had his funeral....though another point made, how many funerals can a movie take? Lol.

Yeah we all love the movie and will watch it until our VCRs and DVDs break, but yeah it makes you wonder about the other funerals for the movie. Actually how much of the funerals could we take if they placed all of them in the movie, especially when it is aired on VH1, it is alread 4 hours longs. Maybe they are doing us a little justice, because the actuall deaths maybe even worse that may really draw up some controversy. Of course we all didn't like seeing the funerals and they way they died, especially someone as talented and great as Paul but that is reality sometimes....the inner fights that lead to death by alcohol, suicide, drugs and the such. That is the emotion it captivated, especially when it showed the scene of him outside Hitsville before his death. That's movies though as well as life.

I hate the Paul scene. I cant watch it. After the first time I saw the movie, I dont think I watched it again. Christian did an AMAZING job portraying Paul, made you fall in love with him. And when it got to that part I was like WTF? I got mad too. LOL! It felt like such a waste. Still a great movie.
