I FIND IT QUITE EERIE THAT TERRON AND EDDIE LOOK ALMOST FRIGHTENING IDENTICAL. IT FREAKS ME OUT SOMETIMES AT HOW MUCH THEY LOOK AND SING ALIKE!!! ANYONE ELSE FEEL THE SAME? I definitely think so to lightdion. When I watched the movie for the first time and then went back and looked at all of their bios, the characters and the temptations, I was blown away at the resemblence of terron and eddie. Especially, in their voice, sometimes when I listen to The Way You Do The Things You Do, I'm like sing Eddie but I could be thinking about Terron. Yeah, its scary they really did a good job in picking the character. When I read Eddie's bio and thought about how Terron portrayed him as the shy, most conservative guy with the awesome falsetto, I was like man....Terron played that role. So I definitely agree.

I don't think any of them were identical. I think David Ruffin had more rugged looks than Leon, who is very pretty. As far as Terron and Eddie, I remember when I first saw the movie, then saw the REAL Eddie, I thought, that's him? They didn't look a thing alike to me, and I just assumed they would be twins. I think Terron did a wonderful job portraying Eddie when he was performing, (his voice was rather thin compared to Eddie J, though)
The one who REALLY captured the character for me was...who else, Christian. He didn't look anything like Paul, but he sure did have me fooled. It's so funny, I always remember seeing their faces, and couldn't put any of the names to the faces (except Otis) until after the movie, and I was like WHO are these guys? LOL! I always called Eddie, the one who sings high, and David was "the nerdy one" because of his glasses. I would have never thought Melvin was the bass, he smiled too much. I know that sounds silly, but I was like 10 years old. ;D

WEAKY, COME ON.YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT NONE OF THE GUYS, REMOTELY RESEMBLED THE REAL TEMPTS? LOOK AT A PIC OF THE TEMPTS. AND THINK REALY HARD-LOL, YOU HAVE TO SEE SOME KIND OF RESEMBLANCE IN ONE OF THE GUYS. I MAY HAVE EXAGERATED ON THEM (EDDIE, TERRON) LOOKING LIKE TWINS, BUT LEON, CHRISTIAN, AND TERRON LOOK ALOT LIKE DAVID, PAUL, AND EDDIE IN MY EYES!!

Lightdion, NOPE. They don't look like them, to me. They did an amazing job capturig their essence, while performing. But looking alike, nope...no way.

"They were the voices" can't say they were the faces either, not really the voices either for that matter. I know Terron and Christian sound the most like the men they were chosen to portray. I have heard Leon sing, his voice has no where near the dept of David Ruffin. Christian was much heavier than Paul ever was, and Terron although he has the skin tone and falsetto he still couldn't pass for Eddie. They did an excellent job though. My men were portrayed very well. I didn't have to wonder who anyone was supposed to be. David was a more manly man than Leon. I don't know if I'm explaining that correctly. David had a presence, Leon not so much. I've met Leon, had a conversation with him. As I have said before, SuzAnne DePass did a wonderful job with the casting, I haven't seen any actors who could've played them better. Charles for the tears alone should've won some kind of award.

I agree that the actors did a tremendous job portraying the singers. And certainly Christian and Terron sang like the originals. And while DB did not look like Melvin, he was tremendous in capturing the loving personality of Melvin. After seeing DB as Melvin, you can easily understand why Melvin and Smokey alternated for the "Miss/Mr Congenality Motown Award" each year. I thought the actors captured the personalities of each of the singers.
If the directors are the people who get such performances out of actors, all praise then to the director.
